Felix Auger-Aliassime has just completed tennis achievement which only Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner can match

Felix Auger-Aliassime has joined Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner on an elite list after his second round win at the Shanghai Masters.

Following Auger-Aliassime’s run to the US Open semi-finals, the Canadian has continued his success at the Shanghai Masters.

The star defeated Alejandro Tabilo in straight sets to confirm his place in the third round of the ATP 1000 tournament.

With his win over Tabilo, Auger-Aliassime has matched an achievement by Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner.

Felix Auger-Aliassime joins Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner on 250 ATP Tour wins

Auger-Aliassime’s win over Tabilo earned him his 250th win on the ATP Tour since making his debut in 2018.

The Canadian, born in 2000, has become just the third player born after the Millennium to pick up that many wins.

Alcaraz and Sinner, who were born in 2001 and 2002, respectively, have picked up as many wins with a date of birth after 2000.

Alcaraz has won 276 times on the ATP Tour, while Sinner has managed 305 wins since making his debut in 2018.

Auger-Aliassime will have a chance to boost his wins when he plays the winner of Jakub Mensik or Jesper De Jong.

They will likely not be joined for a long time

The exclusive list is unlikely to be cracked into in the near future as the next player to join looks some way off.

Holger Rune will likely be the next player born after 2000 to reach 250 wins, but he’s still 80 wins away from the list.

The star has 170 wins on the ATP Tour since making his debut in 2020, but his year-to-date has been fairly slow.

The Dane has won 33 times this year, meaning it will be a couple more years until he joins Alcaraz, Sinner, and Auger-Aliassime.
